Questions shopkeepers ask

How is this different from a normal POS?

A normal POS sells stock that leaves and never comes back. Rental Plus tracks stock that RETURNS: a booking reserves it for dates, a dispatch takes it out, and a return counts every piece back in. Availability, deposits, late fees and breakage only exist in a rental business, and they are the whole point of this app.

Can it tell me what is free on a date?

Yes — that is the Availability screen. Two weeks at a time, rows are items, columns are days, and the number in each cell is what is still free to book after every existing booking and everything currently out. The same number appears inside the booking form, so a double-booking is stopped before it is saved.

What happens when things come back broken?

The return desk asks for three counts per item: returned, damaged, lost. Returned pieces go straight back into stock. Damaged and lost ones are written off to Wastage at replacement cost, so they hit your profit honestly — and you can charge the customer for them on the same screen.

How does the deposit work?

The deposit is held against the rental, never counted as income. At settlement the app adds rent + late fee + damages, subtracts the advance, and covers the rest from the deposit. What is left goes back to the customer in cash; anything above the deposit stays on their khata. Every step prints on the challan.

Can I waive a late fee for a good customer?

Yes. The app suggests the fee from your per-day rate, but the figure is editable at settlement — your number always wins. That rule is the same everywhere in the app: the software suggests, the shopkeeper decides.

Is the Urdu real Urdu or machine translation?

Written by hand in the register a Pakistani rental business actually uses — کرایہ نامہ، بیعانہ، ضمانت، واپسی — with English words kept where everyone keeps them. Your counter staff tap اردو once and the software speaks their language.

Does it need internet?

Only for a few seconds when you activate your license. Daily use — bookings, dispatch, returns, khata, reports, backups — is 100% offline on your own computer.

Is it a monthly subscription?

No. You pay once and the software is yours. The license is locked to your shop computer.

What about FBR digital invoicing?

Windows shows “Windows protected your PC” — is the download safe?
